He’s not just any old sociopath - Howie Morgan is my sociopath - And he really existed.

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

People seem to have trouble with the language in ‘Last Of The Good Guys’.  My question for them is, what rock have they been living under?  LOTGG is the way of the world. How it was and how it was said.  My other question is,  how can you write a character without writing all of that character.  No fancy shmancy (Thanks Dan) skipping of  how it was said.  Sorry, but if Howie Morgan said ‘fuck’ a lot and did too many drugs and anything else he could get his hands on - then that’s who he was.  If he was a chronic sociopath then so be it.  In fact I consider Howie to be one of my favorite characters.  He might have been a bad guy but, what you saw was what you got with Howie.

Maybe someone might like to comment on the other aspects of the story itself.  This is about mud and blood southeast Texas.  They talk that way.  We aren’t at a young ladies finishing school here.

Broaden your horizons a bit, most of the world stinks - That’s just how it is.  Get out there and smell it a bit, maybe you will appreciate how you are among the 5% who don’thave to smell it every day.  Good for you.

If LOTGG upsets you then step back from ‘Eat The Dead (due out in 18 months) because it is full of real pigs, resmorseless rapin’ and killin’ type pigs.  Yeah, real people with real attitudes.

This is a tight peice of work.  More happens in 7 days than probably happens in lots of peoples’ lives.

Check it out, unless you don’t like reality.

Hold What For How long?

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Hold everything.  Twitter is working on my website.  Eat The Dead  is on hold.  Marketing is on hold, a very frustrating proposition.  It’s Canada and the sun is finally shining and I think I will put everything on hold except the sunshine.  Gonna get me some.  It ain’t here for long.

There is no doubt that no matter how well you tell a story you will ultimately have to become a business person to have any kind of success.

Twitter won’t work.

My twitter won’t work on my web page.  Any techies out there with suggestions?

Another Part Of Texas

Monday, April 27th, 2009

People seem to be surprised that anyone from Texas would use the word ‘fuck’ in a sentence.  Well they do!  and if you would like to get a taste of a part of Texas you probably aren’t aware of then check out - ‘Last of the Good Guys’.  Yes, Howie Rupert ‘mother fuckin’ Morgan’ swears a lot - but there is a lot more to the story besides Howie’s bad mouth.

If you’re broke, email me at Impresspress@bell.net and I will send you a copy.  Just promise me you will pass it on when you’re done.

Home Again - Already miss the Turks and Caicos

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Turks and Caicos is a beautiful place.  My man Duke owns this incredible villa - Most beautiful place I ever was.  The company was pretty good as well.  I got some surprising input from The Duke on my work in progress; material to move forward with.  Also the place itself rested, refreshed and reflected me.  I am ready to go after draft # 2.

If you ever travel to Turks and Caicos - I know the place to stay

Yahoo.

Break Time - Turks and Caicos

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Yes, due to the unimaginably large quantity of  hits on my website (lol), I am forced to head to the sunny south (free) for a few days.  Turks and Caicos here I come.  I owe this opportunity to my fine friend, The Duke.  Maybe the respite will help me to refocus on my ‘work in progress’, Eat The Dead (Why does no one like this title?).

Let’s Make A Short Story Collection

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Have just created a page for the gathering of short stories that we can collectively put into a book.  I have started things off with one of my own  infamous little creations.  Yours doesn’t have to be as assinine as mine, variety is the spice of  life - and could very well be what differentiates our collection from all the others.

This one is entitled, ‘Dickson Bobbles’.  How apt a name it is for this character and this story.  Dickson is the kind of person that can’t help but find the trouble in every situation, from pumping gas to internment in a psychiatric hospital - not to mention all the events along the way.  Events inadvertent yet karmic, memorable and not quite so.

Don’t miss the noteworthy cameos by such as, Mrs. Vierma, Gunshoe, Trenchcoat, Pliny V, Doctor Rotstein, Sergius Gilmore, a volkswagon and even a small tribute to Adolf Hitler.

I invite writers and readers to peruse it and comment.  Better yet, if you have a short story, add it.

If you talk to me about mine I will talk to you about yours.

Lets put the best we get together here into a book and maybe we can publish it.

Tell me why not.

Writing to Writers

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

This is a writer’s blog.  My way to reach out to other writers who are lost in space.  This web site is intended to promote my writing and that of other fiction writers. I do not write pretty world stuff. I write about my experiences, and although they might not qualify me for the New York Times bestseller list, at least it qualifies me as a writer of how life is as oposed to how we are all supposed to see it. Join me, talk to me.  I will support you  and what you do and ask that you support me and what I do.  I have one novel,  ‘Last Of The Good Guys’ and am presently working on novel two, ‘Eat the Dead’.

Positive Feedback for Last of the Good Guys

‘Couldn’t put it down.’

‘It’s the real thing.’

‘Never been in a storm like that but Chapter 14 resonated deep inside me…’

Comments like these make it all worthwhile.  Thank you.  A first novel that gets me those comments.  Thank you.

Speaking of Crunch Meyers

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Crunch Meyers.  It is 1993, Crunch is in Bosnia rescuing the family of the girl he loves.  It is the darkest days of the conflict in Eastern Europe, and the Serbs, Croats and Muslims are competing to find new and faster ways to kill one another.  Brutality is everywhere.

Have stepped back from Crunch and his adventures.  It is a black hole at the moment and seems to consume everything I can offer. I am not sure where to go from here but there are a lot of options.

I am not sure where to go from here but there are a lot of options.

April 4/09  Trials of a writer - Just found out that Crunch’s mother gave birth to him when she was only two years old.  Definitely need to do some time line work here.
